Oliver still would like to be permitted to ride at Saturday’s Victoria Derby meeting regardless of the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal discovering him liable of foolhardy riding.
VCAT VP Judge Pamela Jenkins is listening to entries on punishment on Monday with Oliver planning to have his 20-meeting suspension lessened.
Oliver was outed over his ride on inevitable champ Flying Artie in the Blue Sapphire Stakes on October 12, when he calculated out from behind the pioneer and reached the steed to his outside.
The judge said Oliver’s activities were computed and deliberate, and had made a reasonable condition of potential hazard.
