Tokyo 2020 organizing committee have revealed three creative directors for opening and closing ceremony at Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games. 12-member selection committee in Tokyo announced three names who will look-after Olympics and Paralympics.
Mansai Nomura, Takashi Yamazaki and Hiroshi Sasaki have been declared as the creative directors.
Popular kyogen actor Mansai Nomura has been appointed as the Chief Executive Creative Director of both top sporting events of 2020. Mansai Nomura is not only appointed for opening and closing ceremonies of Olympics but also for Paralympic games in Tokyo, Japan 2020. Hence he’ll have the responsibility of organizing four opening and closing ceremonies.
Nomura is one of the finest comedy and film actors who has shown his performances all over the world. He is known for his performances in Japan’s traditional and cultural programs. And his vast knowledge in arts and culture helped him to get such great honor at Tokyo 2020.
54-year old Japanese film director Takashi Yamazaki is declared as the creative director of Summer Olympic Games 2020 opening-closing ceremonies on 24 July and 9 August respectively.
Hiroshi Sasaki one of the Creative Supervisor at the Rio 2016 Games Closing Ceremonies, has been appointed as Executive Creative director of Opening and Closing ceremonies of Paralympic Games 2020 that are scheduled to take place from 25 August to 6 September.
Five others Creative Directors Genki Kawamura (movie producer), Yoshie Kris (creative producer), Sheena Ringo (singer), Kaoru Sugano (technologist) and MIKIKO (choreographer) for the Tokyo 2020 Games ceremonies has been selected.
